Stadium Roofs

Construction of a new covered stand is one of the clearest statements a club can make about itself and its relationship with the community. A grandstand roof is often the most dominant structure in the locality, and is likely to be a club's greatest visual link with it's surroundings. The design of a new grandstand roof therefore offers a rare opportunity to enhance a clubs status, and as such demands careful thought.

The information given in this FSADC guideline publication, is relevant to any club, large or small, seeking to provide a roof over spectator accommodation. "Stadium Roofs" is not a comprehensive technical manual on the design and construction of stadium roofs. Its purpose is to give general information about the range of options available, and to warn against those that should be avoided.

The advice contained in this publication is relevant to all sports grounds, not just football.
