Control Rooms
ISBN 0-9546293-1-0
This publication provides an invaluable source of information for sports ground managers, designers, safety advisors and agencies involved in the upgrading of an existing facility or the design of a new one. It expands on the advice contained in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds and provides details of relevant BS and BSEN Standards for CCTV and public address systems as well as highlighting the implications of Health and Safety legislation and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 on the operation of the control room.
Guidance is provided on determining staffing levels and how to create an appropriate working environment to enable the control room staff to operate effectively throughout any event held at the sports ground. The publication contains detailed advice on identifying the optimum location for the control room as well as discussing the provisions that should be made to enable control to be maintained should the control room become inoperable.
In addition to bringing together client briefing and design information that needs to be considered in the scheme development and design process there are a number of worked examples covering a range and scale of provision.
